Miguel is an internationally acknowledged expert in countertrade and the use of offsets as a financial instrument in the international procurement of state authorized project development. Prior to joining D1 Oil Plc as Regional Director, Miguel served as the vice president for countertrade for the Philippine International Trading Corporation (PITC), a government owned authority. Among his many achievements, he was responsible for Executive Order No. 120, which created the countertrade framework for the Philippine government.

Miguel was directly responsible for the development and implementation of over US$300.0 million worth of countertrade and offset transactions during his long career for the Philippine government.Miguel helped pioneer the establishment of the Association of State Trading Organizations of Developing Countries based in Ljubljana, Yugoslavia. The STODC provides technical support and assistance in the field of countertrade among emerging nations. Miguel is well known throughout the ASEAN pact nations and has many years of experience dealing with large multinational organization

Tony Gimenez is a licensed Metallurgical Engineer and also holds a graduate degree in Strategic Business Economics and a Master’s Degree in Business Management. His past experience is Vice President for Manufacturing of Pilipinas Nissan Inc. Then he was Executive Vice President and General Manager of Sun Valley Manufacturing and Development Corporation – foundry and machine shop. He later became General Manager of AG&P Heavy Steel Fabrication Division producing process equipment for the petroleum and energy sectors.

Tony also has experience as a consultant for Asian Power Corporation; Supercast Foundry and Baronessa Foundry. He also represented the Philippines in UNEP and ESCAP conferences during which he presented technical papers on energy conservation

Errol Fransman – Executive Vice President

Errol holds a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Cape Town and has a total of 20 years experience in chemical engineering, chemical processing, manufacturing, and business management. He worked for 7 years as a Senior Process Engineer at the SASOL Synthetic Fuels Complex in South Africa, where he provided technical and project-management support to the CH4 Reforming Syngas plant, and other-gas processing plants – CO2 Removal; Cryogenic Hydrocarbon Distillation and H2 Purification. At SASOL he also gained experience in plant commissioning, plant de-bottlenecking studies, process simulation and the optimization of energy flows using PINCH technology.

In the latter third of his career, Errol worked as a General Manger for a large high-tech defence company in South Africa where he managed several businesses from international marketing and sales, to production, logistics, new product development, finance and human resources. As a GM, he honed his strategic management skills and his ability to “turn around” struggling businesses. His deep knowledge of LEAN, Six-Sigma and TOC has repeatedly enabled him to achieve excellent business performance.
