Clenergen has forayed into both Greenfield and Brownfield projects through internal project building and acquisition of biomass power plants utilizing gasification, combustion steam and anaerobic digestion technologies. Currently, Clenergen India have executed a long-term, fifteen year power purchase agreement with Power Trading Corporation of India Limited (PTC) for our sale and supply to PTC of 71 megawatts per hour (MW/h) of energy.

Our initial operational activities in India include operating three power plants; the first will be located in Kanchipuram (18 MW/h), Tamilnadu, the second in Salem (10 MW/h), Tamilnadu and third in Tirunelveli (32 MW/h), Tamilnadu. While, the company will start the 19.5MW/h capacity power generation by July 2010, the rest 40.5MW/h capacity will be completed after the Initial Public Offer (IPO), which is planned for March 2011. ICICI Securities will be underwriting the IPO, while Ernst&Young would be declaring the company’s Information Memorandum.

The proceeds from the IPO will be used to upgrade the current 1.5MW/h anaerobic digestion power plant in Salem to 10MW/h and the construction of the 32MW/h power plant in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu.
